Our historic castle spaces combine character and atmosphere with flexible layouts and modern facilities, giving you the freedom to design an event that feels just right for you.

Our experienced Events Team will guide you through every stage of planning, from choosing the right room to creating the perfect menu. With in-house catering led by our award-winning Head Chef and a range of drinks and entertainment options, we provide everything you need to host a memorable and stress-free celebration.

Venue Options

We offer a choice of distinctive spaces within the Castle, each with its own style and capacity to suit different types of events. From intimate dining rooms to lively party spaces, our venues can be adapted to your needs. Whether you are planning a relaxed family gathering, an elegant dinner, or a celebration with music and dancing, we can recommend the best room or combination of rooms to bring your plans to life.

Wavell Room

Located on the upper floor of the Museum, the Wavell Room overlooks the beautiful North Inch and provides an intimate setting for private dining. It is ideal for small gatherings such as family dinners, anniversaries, or business celebrations. Guests can enjoy a drinks reception in the galleries before heading upstairs for a candlelit meal. Choose from our seasonal menus or work with our Head Chef to create something bespoke.

Waterloo Room

Located on the upper floor of the Museum, the Wavell Room overlooks the beautiful North Inch and provides an intimate setting for private dining. Bistro @ The Castle

The Bistro is a flexible evening space, transforming into the perfect setting for music, dancing, and lively celebrations. It features a bar, space for a dancefloor, and adaptable layouts that create a relaxed, lounge-style atmosphere. The Bistro is ideal for ceilidhs, DJ nights, or parties with live bands.

Up to 125 guests
*Please note this number does not reflect seated dining capacity so hire of the adjoining Queen Mother Room would be required.

Our newest event space, the Queen Mother Room is versatile enough to host dinners, drinks receptions, or larger celebrations when combined with the Bistro. Bi-fold doors connect the two spaces, giving flexibility for events that need both seated dining and dancing.

Our newest event space, the Queen Mother Room is versatile enough to host dinners, drinks receptions, or larger celebrations when combined with the Bistro. Bi-fold doors connect the two spaces, giving flexibility for events that need both seated dining and dancing.

Entertainment and Timings

Both the Bistro and Queen Mother Room include built-in speaker systems for background music. Live music requiring PA must take place in the Bistro to comply with our neighbour policy. Guests can also add experiences such as whisky or gin tastings, casino nights, photo booths, or magicians.

Daytime events can begin from 8am, with half-day and full-day hire available. Evening events typically run from 6pm until 11pm, or until 11.30pm on Thursday to Saturday.

Menus and Drinks

All catering is provided our in-house catering team. Our menus are designed to suit every type of celebration, from casual family gatherings to elegant multi-course dinners. We can adapt dishes to meet individual dietary requirements, ensuring every guest enjoys a tailored dining experience.

In addition to these options, we can create bespoke menus to suit your tastes and event style. A children’s menu is also available on request, ensuring younger guests have a selection tailored to their preferences. Our team can accommodate dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives, to ensure all your guests are catered for.

Additional Experiences

Guests can enhance their event with dessert tables, whisky or gin tastings, and additional bar features such as cocktail vans or pizza trucks.  These options are provided by our trusted external suppliers and must be agreed in advance with the Events Team. Entertainment can either be arranged directly by yourself or organised by us on your behalf, in which case a small service charge will apply.

Yes, in the Bistro only. Amplified music finishes by 11.30pm in line with licensing.

Decorations and setup can be done during your hire period. Additional setup outside these times can be arranged with the Events Team and may incur extra fees.

Yes, venue hire covers all necessary staffing.

Yes, guests may use our public car park. Overnight parking for evening events can be arranged in advance.

All catering and drinks are provided in-house by our catering team and bar team. External catering is not permitted, although we are happy to discuss special requests such as celebration cakes.

Yes, a deposit is required to confirm your event. The balance is payable ahead of the event date. Our Events Team will provide full details when you enquire.

Yes, all event spaces are fully accessible, and accessible restrooms are available. Our team can provide advice on the best access points depending on your event.

Background speaker systems are available in the Bistro and Queen Mother Room. If you require additional AV, such as projectors or microphones, this can be arranged in advance.
