Private Rooms for Funeral Teas and Gatherings
At The Black Watch Castle and Museum, we provide a private and respectful setting for funeral teas and remembrance gatherings. Our role is to make these arrangements as straightforward as possible, allowing you to focus on spending time with your family and guests. We offer a range of rooms suitable for different group sizes, along with in-house catering and support from our Events Team. We aim to offer flexibility while maintaining a calm and discreet atmosphere, and all details of your gathering will be handled professionally and sensitively.
Room Options
We have two private rooms available for funeral teas and remembrance gatherings, each offering privacy and suitable facilities depending on the size of your group. Both rooms are designed to allow for a quiet, private environment while providing the flexibility to meet the needs of your gathering.
Queen Mother Room
This is our larger private space, suitable for gatherings with more guests. The room can be set up for seated dining with round tables for eight to twelve per table, with food served directly to each table. Alternatively, it can be arranged for a standing reception with a buffet and smaller tables and chairs positioned around the room.
A drinks station can also be provided if required, offering a selection of whisky, wine, fizz, spirits, beers, and soft drinks. This gives guests the option to help themselves throughout the gathering while keeping service discreet.
Fully accessible with step-free access and accessible restrooms
Capacity: up to 80 guests seated | up to 100 guests standing

Menus and Catering
Our catering team provides a range of options designed to suit funeral teas and remembrance gatherings with sensitivity and care. Menus are flexible and can be adapted to meet the needs of your guests, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements. A children’s menu is also available on request, ensuring younger guests are looked after as thoughtfully as the rest of your party.

FAQs
Yes, parking is free when using our on-site public car park. If the car park is full, several council-run car parks are located adjacent to the grounds.
Our Events Team is available throughout the day to assist with any AV setup or troubleshooting.
Set-up is available from the start time of your booking. If you require earlier access, we can amend the hire period to accommodate your needs.
Once your booking is confirmed and the initial quote is accepted, we will send an invoice for the venue hire along with our terms and conditions for signing. Your booking is secured once these are returned and payment has been received. The balance invoice will be issued after final numbers are provided, fourteen days before your event.
