Sir Edward Harry Macnaghten was born 12th February 1896, the 6th Baronet.He served as a Second Lieutenant in the 1st Bn., the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)attd. 12th Bn. Royal Irish Rifles.He was educated at Eton.He was killed, aged 20.
His brother also fell; he was Sir Arthur Douglas Macnaghten,7th Baronet, born 25th January 1897- killed 15th September 1916. He was also a Second Lieutenant.He was 19 and served with the 8th Bn., The Rifle Brigade.He was educated at Wellington College and Trinity College, Cambridge.
