The Black Watch in the Great War: Rediscovered Histories from the Regimental Family

During the First World War, The Black Watch provided 23 battalions as part of the British forces committed to that conflict. Tens of thousands of Black Watch soldiers served in Europe and the Middle East – over 8,000 died. The Black Watch was awarded 69 battle honours and four Black Watch men received the Victoria Cross.
