Andy Middlemiss will start his talk with a brief look at Myanmar as it is now before then comparing it with what happened to the same country, then called Burma, in the Second World War during the period of 1942 -1945. He will look at how one man turned the tide of the Japanese invasion, “Uncle Bill” Slim, who mastermind defeat into victory.
Lt Col Andy Middlemiss is a 4th generation soldier who served with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers for 33 years. During that time he did 3 tours in the Far East.
