The Black Watch Museum Object of the Month

The Black Watch was an elite military Regiment whose history stretches back almost three centuries. This website aims to provide comprehensive information on everything 'Black Watch' from the history of the Regiment to its current activities and exists to celebrate and sustain that unique heritage and tradition.

Tayside's Treasures

The Museum of The Black Watch are members of the Tayside Museum Forum, established in 2008 and comprising of over 20 museums throughout Angus, Dundee and Perthshire.

The Tayside Museums Forum aims to develop collaborative working between members to promote museums in Tayside and improve access to their collections and services. The member museums have diverse collections including natural history, archaeology, local and social history, art, maritime heritage, science and industrial heritage, with many objects of national and international importance.

All the museums featured on the Tayside's Treasures website are members of the Tayside Museums Forum and partipate in, or are working towards, the Museums, Libraries & Archive Council's Accreditation scheme, a nationally agreed standard for UK museums.
