To coincide with Armistice Day, and to highlight the work of the Museum of The Black Watch's current oral History Project - In Peace and War - the Daily Record spoke with three Black Watch veterans to discuss their experiences of war and why Armistice Day is important.
In Peace and War is part of Their Past Your Future Scotland Phase 2, which brings young people and older generations in the local community together to capture oral histories that will focus on World War II and all subsequent conflicts.
Through the project, the Museum of The Black Watch will be working in partnership with the YMCA Perth, the Atholl Museum of Country Life and the St Andrews Preservation Trust, to gather and record personal histories from members of this legendary regiment, and many others. Stories from local veterans who served during World War II and subsequent conflicts will illustrate many facets of the Regiment’s experiences and the experiences of others involved in modern conflicts.
