BBC Scotland has been working with museums across the country to feature 60 objects from Scotland on the History of the World website. These range from the earliest surviving Scottish banknote to Billy Connolly’s banana boots made by John Byrne for a satirical play on an Upper Clyde Shipbuilders’ work-in.

But that’s just the start - A History of the World needs you to add your objects to the site to help tell the story of Scotland’s influence on the world and the world’s influence on Scotland. Maybe there’s something at home or in your community that can add to this story...?
A History of the World hopes you can get involved, and with all your contributions, aim to build a unique digital museum reflecting A History of the World in a range of ways. Explore the website which has been launched with around 700 objects from the United Kingdom. More are being added all the time.
